The Golem comes from Jewish folklore—a creature of clay animated by a rabbi to serve a purpose, often protection, sometimes destruction. It’s a servant until it isn’t, a tool that can turn on its maker. Calling AI an “Algorithmic Golem” suggests it’s a creation of human ingenuity that’s grown beyond control, serving masters we didn’t elect and enforcing rules we didn’t agree to.

AI’s power comes from scale, speed, and opacity. Algorithms decide what you see on X, what ads chase you on Google, even what loans you qualify for. They’re built by humans, but once they’re running, they’re black boxes—too complex for most to understand, too pervasive to escape. That’s the Golem vibe: a tool we made, now calling shots we didn’t explicitly greenlight.

AI’s history started in the 1950s—Alan Turing’s ideas birthed machine learning, and the Cold War fueled it with military cash. Fast forward to the 2000s—DARPA’s funding neural nets, Google’s hoarding data, and suddenly AI’s not just theory, it’s in your pocket. Companies like Palantir (i.e. Peter Thiel) took it further, blending AI with surveillance for clients like the NSA and ICE. It’s not a conspiracy; it’s business.

Take Xkeyscore, the NSA program Snowden leaked in 2013. It’s a data-sucking beast, collecting emails, chats, etc. AI now sifts that data faster than any human could. Or look at Israel’s Unit 8200: their cyber-experts build tools like Pegasus, spyware that’s hit journalists and activists.

The World Economic Forum (W.E.F.) and their “Great Reset” talk? They’re real, pushing digital IDs and AI governance—publicly, not in smoke-filled rooms. Elites see AI as a shiny tool for control. Point is, AI’s growth isn’t random—it’s tied to money, militaries, and agendas. That’s where the Golem feeling creeps in.

It’s all about “predictive policing—tools like Gotham use crime data to guess where “trouble” is brewing. Sounds smart—until you see it targeting the marginalized, journalists, dissidents, and whistleblowers. Or social media—X’s algorithm boosts what keeps you scrolling, buries what doesn’t. If you’re talking about Gaza or Ukraine in ways that don’t fit the “approved” Langley Boy or Zionist narrative, good luck getting traction—not because it’s banned, but because it’s “deprioritized.” The other word for this? “Shadow banned.”

This isn’t new. Google’s been curating search results since PageRank; Facebook’s News Feed has favored outrage since 2018. AI just makes it faster, smarter. It’s not sentiently “punishing” you—it’s optimizing for engagement or compliance, based on what its coders (or their bosses) want.

The creepy part? Prediction’s getting personal. AI can guess your politics from your likes, your health from your searches. Companies and governments can AI-scrape faces in surveillance footage. It’s not a global Golem—it’s fragmented, run by different players with different goals. But the effect? You’re nudged, shaped, and silenced, without ever seeing the strings. And there are political biases baked in. We see that on X as Mossad operatives can threaten people with death, doxx them, and nothing happens when others merely call out genocide and get permanently banned.

Palantir has contracts with U.S. agencies, tracking immigrants and “threats.” Israel’s Unit 8200? They’re a cyber-powerhouse, and their alumni do flood Silicon Valley—NSO Group (Pegasus) is one example. NATO? They fund AI for defense, like any military bloc.

The W.E.F.’s “AI governance” push is public—check their 2024 reports. They want regulated AI, digital IDs, maybe a cashless future. It’s not a secret club; it’s a think tank with too much influence.

The U.S. no-fly list, fed by secret algorithms, strands people without explanation. The EU’s Digital Services Act flags “hate speech” with AI—vague enough to chill speech. It’s a plantation, a cage with bars you can’t see.

Gaza and Ukraine? AI’s there—drones pick targets, algorithms scrub feeds. X’s visibility shifts when you question the “right” side—not a ban, just a quiet fade. It’s control by curation, not a Golem’s fist. The risk? As AI gets better, that curation tightens. Imagine an app denying you a job because your “risk score”—built from tweets, purchases, whatever—flagged you. It’s not sci-fi; it’s insurance companies using AI today. Now people’s cars can send driving data to insurance carriers, even without that person’s explicit knowledge or permission.

What to do? Signal and Proton shield chats. Quitting X or Facebook cuts the data flow, but good luck staying connected. Cash and paper dodge digital tracking, but society’s racing the other way—try buying a plane ticket with coins lately.

Exposing it is trickier. Whistleblowers like Snowden help, but the system’s diffuse—no one leak kills it. Many people are too apathetic and don’t understand the consequences of their “invisible” decisions. Hackers can disrupt—Anonymous rattled cages—but AI adapts fast. Resistance works better small—opt out where you can, question what you’re fed, build offline ties. We need to build parallel system of power to provide real alternatives to the increasingly centralized systems that are built to give the owners of the means of production more power and control. We need to build a future that is decentralized, uses AI for our benefit, and which is not passive but active and deliberate. There will come a time where we will only have some modicum of freedom if we actively embrace it. The default will be total slavery, and most people won’t mind. They will always choose a perceive level of security over freedom and risk. In the end, though, they will find they have neither.
